SH//FT General Human Preparedness (GHP) training prepares you for life!
Many of you will already know of General Physical Preparedness (GPP), which relates to general conditioning to improve strength, speed, endurance, flexibility etc… it forms the foundation of your fitness. Specific Physical Preparedness (SPP), your sport or task specific work, is layered on top.
GHP is a more holistic approach to GPP that goes beyond performance outcomes. It encompasses the multitude of things that impact on your performance in the dance of life; fitness, breathwork, sleep, nutrition, mindset. They all matter, they all impact on each other and they all impact your performance, whether that’s on the track, in the pool, at home or in the boardroom.
Killing it in the gym 6 days a week is great, but if you are not managing the rest of your life, you may run into problems.
GHP helps you with becoming a generally prepared human. It provides you with a solid base of fitness that prepares you for practically any task.
If you’re an athlete, GHP will get you to, and maintain you, at around 90% of where you need to be for your chosen sport. In the lead up to your event, around 7-weeks out, we recommend you start following one of our specific human preparedness (SHP) training programs. This will top you up with the skills and fitness specific to your sport and includes a taper to ensure you’re ready to go when you step up to the starting line.
